He helps us determine filming locations based on no fly zones, keeps track of weather forecasts, and other unforeseen obstacles. One example is when the President was planning to fly through our area the day of our shoot. JD worked with me to adjust our schedule and prioritize our filming so that we could get what we needed before that happened. The whole day he was piloting the drone, coming up with great shot ideas, and keeping tabs on any no fly zone updates-all of which allowed me to focus on my tasks as a director. "I needed to survey a tower without having to climb. Climbing a tower can be very expensive. Using one of John's drones, we were able to take a video of the tower and determine what hardware we would need and mounting locations on the tower. While taking a video of another tower, we were able to determine where a cable had come loose from the cable tray and was flapping in the wind. Left as is, the wind would have continued banging against the tower and would have ruined the cable, resulting in an expensive repair."
